-adjusting gridlines to appear on all floors:
video here Upper floors
-wall surface pattern : video here
for me i wanted to remove the surface pattern away from my common wall, one way was to do a graphic override; the second is just to have no pattern fill in the default setting which is what i did, although best way would be to duplicate the existing layer and off that

Revit
baby steps really. back to how to set up:
STARTING ADJUSTMENTS:
-levels
first obstacle i faced, is how to have the elevations in meters, but actual area in mm,
thankfully a tutorial online: words description here, youtube video here
-project browser floor plan order
the default arranges the levels in alphabetical order, this needs to be adjusted in the views properties setting. Video link
-resize grid head
this one is so crazy, works by duplicating a family for that diameter in mm.video link
-adjusting diagonal tick size
duplicate existing dimension setting, and go to type as well, and make a new setting family
video
I DIDN'T KNOW:
-commands can be typed in video link here, just like autocad, caps lock needs to be on, and then type
CP: copy
DM: mirror
DL: detail line
GR: gridlines
MV: move
MA: match properties
RO: rotate
TL: thin lines
TR: trim
TX: text notes, comes with leaders
WA: wall
RP: reference point
SB: 3d view of selection of marqueed area
HI: isolate
HR: reset
VIDEO start to end house demo
Demostration
17.53: make all dimensions equal tool, by clicking on the small node. crazy cool. this means, no need to draw the line as is, but let the dimension adjust them later..

Difference between Layer combination, MV0, Graphic Overrides
These 3 confuses me on when to use one or the other, the following are some thoughts on it
Layer Combinations:
-Elements selection, selected wall, window, columns to be turned off
MVO ( Model View Options):
-Symbols to be turn off ( eg: door tags)
-doors and their openings
-If a MVO option is deleted, the default is that the next setting will be used
Graphic Overrides ( Unifying Model & Documentation):
-Controlling the fill Colors & Line weights
-Eg: zones, electrical plane ( during color coding), hatch, furnitures, load bearing walls
-This removes the need for pen sets
-very well written article on this: By Author overland
-RCP
Renovation Filter:
-dimensions within that is kept to that layer

Archicad Morph
-Important would be in creation of the masses, the reference origin, as that determines the visibility of your plans.
-Archicad is a very precise 3d modelling tool compared to sketchup. The edges, surface and nodes have very precise related options when clicked on. Probably one of the first things to have to get use to.
-modelling the dimensions away int terms of pausing, and waiting for that blue circle, and then moving the cursor to x distance away. No no clicking at all. just a patient wait, for the sequence of blue circle appearing, then the dimension box, then typing in the desired value
-following something literally is not helpful
for eg, morph video says it should be " 3d window settings" , however, after going through all the options, there is no such description. In the end, my version uses " 3d window styles "

Thoughts on making a good Pizza
Firstly, basic ingredients are
-flour
-water lukewarm
-salt
-yeast
Why do we need to let the pizza dough rise, aka sit overnight?
-It has got to do with letting the yeast in the dough react to form bubbles
-Allows to have a smaller crumb, prevent air-gaps
-Without rising, dough will bake flat and dense
Why sift flour?
-Allows for aeration, and so that it combines easily. Some thought from a website epicurious
Tips:
-Do not overwork the dough
-Letting dough rise overnight should be in the fridge so it doesnt over ferment.
Leaving it out overnight at room temperature may cause it to over-rise and collapse
Why is my dough soggy?
-pizza wasn't cooked in a hot enough oven
Flour:
-Book recommends to use Italian flour, if not then all-purpose flour.
-Bread flour also can, as it tears less than dough made w all purpose flour, but may be difficult to stretch into shape because of its higher gluten content.
Yeast:
-During resting time, it releases carbon dioxide just like in sparkling water/mineral water
Salt:
-Prevents dough to be less sticky, adds flavour
-slows down yeast activity during fermentation process
