The pain of the HS

 its not what happens but how one learns from it

ways to make setup in autocad less painful for the next round.

To Do:

1)Master block file. 

-List font sizes

-List Layer names and colors

-Give Clear block names


2) Revit Export View Template

-make sure names of rooms ( on its own layer)

-area lines (turn off)


3) Make life easier:

-find a lisp way to do page number ( or label tabs to field pg number?)

-add/update same block across different cad files.

WFH #DRAINAGE

 Drainage at Slab:

-when estimating depth above slab for decking, walkway, planting. whether 150, 200mm, is related to 

-Length of run to the rwdp. Eg: length of slope ( eg 16m) to fall at gradient 1:200, will need min 80mm for slanting of screed, if it is a straight line.

-Summit point is usually 100mm below top level. thickness for scupper drain neeeded

- this allowance of depth also determines the ponding affect allows before flooding, and the intervals of rwdp needed. hence if too shallow depth, more rwdp is needed at closer intervals.

-for rwdp penetration, as it is usually along columns, note penetration through beam

-note on siphonic drainage. usually pipe is smaller, no need for gradient , but because of tournedo effect if it is a leafy area, twigs and leaves may affect it

-rwdp, estimated 150mm dia pipe covered 200m2 area of rain water

-Every vertical pipe needs a sump. BIG/HDB only allows one 1 penetration per beam

Drainage for site:

-M&E: in charge of IC invert level

-C&S:  in charge of MH invert  lvl

** when MH/IC is more than 1.5m height difference, need a M&E tumbling bay detail

Drainage Tanks: 2 main systems: gravity vs pump drainage system

There are many types of tanks, detention tanks, RW harvesting tank, storm water tank.

1)Firstly, note Rainwater---> Harvesting Tank--->overflow--->Detention Tank

Usage Harvesting Tank--->Treatment room--->water use to wash void decks. ( not irrigation)

*to note pipe length required to run to the void deck, unless 1 treatment rm per block?

Detention Tank requires 2 access hatch, for air ventilation

2)House Drains/ CE drains---> Detention Tank--->External drain

3)Stormwater Tank: is for capturing basement water. the detail is same as detention tank. Location is below MPL

* Do note that because it is in basement, requires a pump to bring the water out. A swan neck/goose neck is necessary as it prevents backflow as there is usually electricity from the pump

4)Tank depths:

If Tank is 3m deep, water quantity collected, is 2m, as 1 m for access

5) Rain Garden as a bio swale, contributes to the catchment of the site. Eg, Catchement of 25% is needed for Detention Tank,

Times of Covid. WFH

 Today is the 1st sept.

Will be working continuously at home for the next 1 month. sp 01/09-01/10

Some goals:

1) To study the HDB unit type prototype vs kyb proposed unit type.

-2rm in terms of 2RF1 and 2RF2

-3,4,5 rm

2)Do situps to get back 6 packs

3) Improve facial complexion

4)Leave fingernails to grow

Terminology

"Current proposal"as a subject heading is an oxymoron.

Current is as is, and proposal is what is different from the existing. If need to use, best to use current layout, and proposed layout

Carpark

The setup consist of 1 interconnected carpark, but 2 portions, namely sprinkled n unsprinkled.
The sprinkled came about as a result of having a commercial component placed adjacent to it, n for compartmentation for fscf, would have to be MV, hence sprinkled.

The sensitivity to F-F heights is crucial as there are connecting links from the landscape deck to the residential level, hence any further increase, would result in longer ramps, etc, explaning to PM why wasn't this captured, etc.

The hdb requirement for CP f-f is 2.8m, and for future ready is 3.3m. clear rqmt for driveway is 2.2m, so services like M&E, structure needs to clearly communicated . some issues along the way

-Column structure, basic 2 columns along each lot, vs 1 longer column, but beam depth would change for the uppermost level. current depth is 500mm, roof would have to be changed to 1000m
-it was a close shave for the sprinkler, as we will need localised sprinklers area to be with shallower beam

-Future ready rqmt clear height is 2.6m, so for the required lots area, this area should have a higher headroom

**-if area >2000sqm, smoke purging or smoke vents is needed to discharge smoke. Our problem came about for the depth of the fans. The logic to understand, smoke purging system needs a ductless jet fan and also duct mv. It seems the jet fan sucks in, and duct throws it out. These purging systems are deep, for eg 750mm, and would totally throw a 2.8m F-F provision off.
Terms are:


  • sprk MSCP MV fan - cater the fan within 3.5m between deck. UPC to confirm
  • sprk MSCP MV duct - cater duct depth such that 2.2m headroom is maintained. Check the routing against beam crossing. Ducts not allowed to penetrate.
  • sprk MSCP jet fan - relocate jetfan to residual area with <2m headroom and minimise omission of spare carpark lots. Jetfan can be positioned better without having columns blocking air flow (KTP's alt MSCP structural system). To consider the benefit in reference to omission of spare lots.
  • Alt MSCP structure design - 150mm from deck 3 can be given to KTP to mitigate their new beam depth at MSCP roof garden. min 2.3m headroom for HDB structure requirement. KTP to study the structure again to avoid raising another 150mm of roof garden level, in consideration of
    - commercial heights
    - staircase risers
    - various ramps linkbridges length to resi void decks
    - potential further overlooking issue, security/privacy issue
    - WVG further level mitigation to 120.00
  • UPC req on sanitary pipe = 600mm min from FFL and 300-400mm depth for S trap. To consider having the vertical stack before crossing any beam to avoid headroom issue.
  • sprk MSCP - sprinkler main pipe 100mm dia is allowed to penetrate beam at the highest deck soffit with min one-third span interval (KTP requirement). UPC and KTP to coordinate fully on this. Sprinkler pipes does not cross any beams for typ floors (KTP's alt structural system)

  • -Any change in height for mscp, wld affect the length of ramp internally to reach.to note turning radius and also lots that may need to be remove to cater for this additional length

    -thoughts on mscp:
    - if <2000sqm, smoke vent ok
    -if >5000sqm, smoke purging system. This then depends on whether it is sprkl or non-sprinkl.
    if sprinkl. This smps consist of MV fan(input), and MV duct(output), and also a jet fan
    . If natural vent, smps not needed.

    Rainwater harvesting

    it is important to get clear the different between the rainwater harvesting tanks, detention tanks, storm-water tank and types of catchments.

    I think that is why in sexy architecture coffee table books, the ground plane is always emphasised.
    as this concerns also the larger mechanisms of rainwater systems if in place. Sensitivity to things is usually magnified a hundred fold, when the scale of the project is larger.

    Also the sequence of flow ( this affects placement of tanks) and invert levels(lowest point of tank) required for gravity feed. Otherwise, a pump is needed which we usually try to avoid, as it brings about maintenance and a need to conceal it. the understanding is that it is common for private projects, but for public housing, reducing the need for maintenance is key. As we know maintenance is tied to town councils, which is tied to the ward, which is connected to the all mighty.

    Note C&S scope of work, includes " hydrau;ic rqmts for rwht, n storage tank"

    The issue here is when there are 2 separate rainwater catchments.
    1) ABC bioswale ( direct discharge to external drains, so water can be " dirtier?"
    2) Rainwater harvesting ( for watering of plants)

    1)Catchments here are open deck of carparks, ponds, roof tops of commercial

    Catchement--->ABC Bioswale---> Direct Discharge

    2)Residential
     - the concern is that this catchment includes the resi corridor, and when washing, the soapy water/detergent also gets collected. This bets avoided. Although this being said, there is also a treatment room, attached to the harvesting tank?

    Catchment---> Harvesting tank--->Detention Tank---> "Recycled Water" for watering plants

    3)Stormwater tank ( required when there is a "basement")
    pub code of practice (4.10.(b), requires stormwater tank n RWHT to be separate
