Importing cad to revit, and adjusting existing walls

1)Pre-import steps to clean up, video: video link here
-for detaching xrefs, always remember to delete all previously attached blocks first, purge, then detach in the xref panel

2) Adjusting frame edge, visibility and trace options
-visibility, right click on import: Override graphics in view, choose element, then halftone

-click on xref, click on identity data--> View template, then architecture plan--> V/G overrides analytical model--> imported categories--> click on indv layer names

-in VG, visibility graphics, to adjust transparency of walls & floors to be 50%. This enables one to see the dwg underneath as a reference

3) Adjusting, to remove a part of a dimension line
-click tab until it toggles to the element

4) Adjust wall
-click unjoin, in modify tab to prevent unconnected walls from moving together

Revit Stairs:
-nosing profile for stairs would require one to create a family template

-for some reason, the desired stairs would switch back to default, so afteir doing the first run, before doing the second, update/check  that  the desired number of risers is still as is, before creating the stair run

-trimming wall under stairs Look at 5:22 part of video, lynda tutorial on railing: here
